Inspired by the concept of glamping, yet elevated with lavish touches, the lodge beckons guests with all the amenities of home amidst the untamed beauty of nature.
Umkumbe is a beautifully designed bush lodge that offers accommodation in 10 tented style suites, 4 of which are standard, 1 luxury and 5 superior. Each tented suite has its own private deck or verandah and is fully equipped for a comfortable safari retreat
Named after different indigenous trees found in the region, the stylish accommodation and spacious tented suites at Umkumbe are all positioned on private raised wooden decks nestled in nature. The luxury & superior suites are totally secluded and have their own private view of the drainage line below. It also boasts a bathtub, his/hers sinks and an outdoor shower.
Suite facilities at Umkumbe Bush Lodge include a tea/coffee station, standing fan, air con, hand luggage stand, hair dryer, mosquito net, safe, bathroom amenities, changeable twin/double bed configurations and a private seating area on a raised wooden deck.
Superior Tented Suite - Our Superior Tented Suites are totally secluded with a King bed, sleeper couch & an option for another single bed for children. They also boast a bathtub, his/hers sinks, and an outdoor shower. The Superior Tents can accommodate two adults up to three children.
Luxury Tent - The luxury Leadwood Tent is totally secluded with a King bed and sofa-bed. It also boasts a bathtub, his/hers sinks, and an outdoor shower. It can also accommodate up to one child.
Standard Tent - The stylish and spacious standard tents are all positioned on private raised wooden decks nestled in nature. King size bed that can be converted to 2 twin beds bathroom with shower only. These tents sleep a maximum of two guests each.
Superior Honeymoon Tent
Our Superior Honeymoon Suite includes expansive outdoor deck, complete with plunge pool and outdoor shower, which allow guests to watch wildlife from the comfort of their suite, while indoors, the suite is open-plan and airy, flowing seamlessly between the dressing area, bedroom and bathroom.

Child Policy
Children aged 5 and over are welcome at Umkumbe Bush Lodge.
Children 12 and over pay the full adult rate. Children under 12 pay 50% of the adult rate.

Conservation levy
Sabie Game Reserve Conservation levy: R400 per person per night will be added to your invoice and this contribution goes towards conservation initiatives within the Sabie Game Reserve and surrounding areas.
Gate Fees
Please note that the entry gate at Shaws Gate, is the Sabie Game Reserve Gate (on the left) and there are no fees payable on entrance.
FAQS:
Do the tents have air-conditioning? Yes, all tents have both air-conditioning as well as a standing fan.
How many people can each tent sleep? The four Standard Tents sleep a maximum of 2 people each. Leadwood Luxury Tent can sleep to 2 adults & a child. The Superior Tents have a King bed and a sleeper couch that can sleep up to 2 children. We can add an extra single for a 3rd child. The Honeymoon Tent can sleep 2 guests on a King size bed.
Do the tents have en-suite bathrooms? All tents have en-suite bathrooms that include a standing shower. Please note that the Luxury & Superior Tents have an indoor bathtub and outdoor shower.
